2-Day Harar Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Addis Ababa – Dire Dawa – Harar

Take a morning flight from Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa, where your guide and driver will meet you at the airport for the drive to Harar.

After checking into your accommodation, begin exploring Harar Jugol, the historic walled city and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Walk through its maze of narrow streets and discover colorful markets, traditional Harari houses, historic mosques and the unique culture that has developed inside the city walls over centuries.

In the evening, experience one of Harar’s most unusual traditions: the famous hyena feeding. Watch local hyena men interact at close range with wild spotted hyenas that approach the edge of the city after dark.

Day 2: Harar – Dire Dawa – Addis Ababa

After breakfast, continue exploring Harar and visit places you may have missed the previous day.

Depending on your travel date and flight schedule, we can also arrange an excursion toward Babille, including the camel market when it is operating and the surrounding landscapes.

Later, drive back to Dire Dawa Airport for your return flight to Addis Ababa.
