The Ethiopian tourist visa is a type visa issued for short-term purposes up to 90 days maximum. There are two types of tourist visa to enter Ethiopia, Visa on Arrival and Online visa (E-visa). Those who are eligible to get an Ethiopian Tourist Visa On Arrival or Online still have to apply at an Ethiopian embassy or consulate if they want to stay in Ethiopia for long-term.

How To Obtain Visa on Arrival
It is very easy but the queuing after flying for long hours?
If you are from one of the countries eligible for an Ethiopian visa on arrival, you need to present 2 passport size photos and a fee, you get queue at one of the cabins at the airport to complete the application.
However, we prefer to advise travelers choose to obtain the Ethiopian visa online before they travel. That is to save the hassle of queuing and applying for a visa on arrival at Bole international Airport, it is better to apply online for an Ethiopia visa in advance.
Do I need a Transit visa for Ethiopia?
If you transit through Ethiopia, you don’t need a visa as long as you remain in the permitted transit area and depart within 12 hours. However if you decide to leave the airport or the permitted transit area, yes you will need to obtain a transit visa.
