4-Day Omo Valley Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Addis Ababa → Jinka → Turmi
Take a morning flight from Addis Ababa to Jinka, where our local guide and driver will meet you at the airport.
Continue toward Turmi, home of the Hamer people. Depending on your arrival time and local events, visit a Hamer village or nearby market.
If a traditional ceremony such as a Hamer bull-jumping ceremony is taking place, we can adjust the schedule to attend when practical.
Overnight: Turmi
Day 2 – Karo & Dassanech Communities
After breakfast, drive toward the Omo River to visit the Karo, known for their traditional body decoration and villages overlooking the river.
Continue to visit a Dassanech community near the Ethiopian-Kenyan border. The visit provides an opportunity to learn about local life and traditions in this remote part of the Omo Valley. Return to Turmi in the afternoon.
Overnight: Turmi
Day 3 – Turmi → Jinka
After breakfast, begin the journey back toward Jinka.
Depending on the day of the week and your travel dates, we may stop at a local market or community along the route. Market visits and ceremonies are incorporated whenever they naturally fit the itinerary rather than being guaranteed.
Arrive in Jinka and prepare for the following morning’s visit to the Mursi area.
Overnight: Jinka
Day 4 – Mursi → Jinka → Addis Ababa
Depart Jinka early for Mago National Park and continue to a Mursi community.
The Mursi are one of the best-known communities of the Omo Valley, particularly for the traditional lip plates worn by some women.
After the visit, return to Jinka and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.
